MTTC Pilot Test Focus Groups

Evaluation Systems will be conducting online-only pilot test focus groups for the following field on October 19, 2022.

• Deaf or Hard of Hearing (128)

Why should I participate?

• As a participant in the pilot test focus group, you will receive your choice of (1) an MTTC test voucher or (2) an Amazon.com gift card.
• You will provide input on the test that will be taken by future educators.
• You will discuss the test with other focus group members.
• You will gain practical testing experience and gauge professional knowledge by taking actual test items.

How long will each test take? What is the format?

• The focus group meeting will be four hours long, including breaks.
• The test items will be shared onscreen via Microsoft Teams. You will submit your test responses on a computer.
• You will need to connect from a private location with secure Internet. You should have a reliable computer and Internet connection to participate.
• Part of the session will consist of taking the test.
• Part of the session will consist of discussing test items with fellow participants.

Am I eligible?

• Educators who have received a Deaf/Hard of Hearing endorsement in Michigan within the last five years are eligible to participate.
• Faculty, uncertified educators, and educators who do not have a Deaf/Hard of Hearing endorsement in Michigan are NOT eligible to participate in this pilot test focus group. Please visit mirecruit.nesinc.com for details about other MTTC test development opportunities available to you.

When and where will the testing take place?

• Meetings will be conducted on Microsoft Teams . Materials will be shared online during the meeting.
• There will be one morning session and one afternoon session. Please indicate the session you wish to attend on the sign-up form.
• All participants must submit a confidentiality agreement before the session in order to participate.

This is a great chance to get a first look at the questions that will appear on a redeveloped MTTC test. We hope to see you!
