MTTC Pilot Test Focus Groups

Evaluation Systems will be conducting pilot test focus groups for the following redeveloped Bilingual Education (125) and Industrial and Technology Education (129) tests.

• Dearborn, June 17, 2022

Why should I participate?

• As a participant in the pilot test focus group, you will receive your choice of (1) a $129 MTTC test voucher or (2) a $75 Amazon.com gift card.
• You will provide input on the test that will be taken by future educators.
• You will discuss the test with other focus group members.
• You will gain practical testing experience and gauge professional knowledge by taking actual test items.

How long will each test take? What is the format?

• The focus group meeting will be four hours long, including breaks.
• The test items will be shared inside the room. You will submit your test responses on a computer.
• You are asked to bring a laptop to the focus group room for the event. Please let us know on the sign-up form if you are unable to bring a laptop computer.
• Part of the session will consist of taking the test.
• Part of the session will consist of discussing the items with fellow participants.

Am I eligible?

• Juniors, seniors, and graduate students who will be seeking certification in Bilingual Education or Industrial and Technology Education are eligible. (If you are not technically a junior but have completed nearly half of your coursework, please reach out to us to confirm your eligibility.)
• Educators who received certification in Bilingual Education, English as a Second Language, or Industrial and Technology Education (as applicable) in 2020 or more recently are eligible.
• Faculty and educators who received certification before 2020 are NOT eligible to participate in these pilot test focus groups. Please visit mirecruit.nesinc.com for details about other MTTC test development opportunities available to you.

When and where will the testing take place?

• We are holding focus groups in Grand Rapids (June 16) and Dearborn (June 17). Please indicate the session and location that you will attend on the sign-up form.
